The goal of the Locomorph EU project is to push beyond the state of the art in robotic locomotion and movements, by increasing efficiency, robustness, and thus usability in unknown environments. Locomorph combines multidisciplinary approaches from biology, biomechanics, neuroscience, robotics, and embodied intelligence to investigate locomotion and movements in animals and robots, focusing on two concepts: morphology and morphosis. Main Website

At this point in time, our lab's assignments in the project are to modularize successful, monolithic designs of robots of the consortium in order to provide a flexible construction kit to build a variety of walking, jumping and running robots; and to provide an electronics board loaded with a microcontroller and a embedded operating system to easily perform high-level control of our robots.
